This page is devoted to those products that filled a particular need as the situation arose and while mainly free flight orientated, they have been purchased by modellers from other disciplines to take advantage of new materials on offer or explore another facet of our hobby. Japanese Tissue
Esaki light weight:- red, yellow, white, blue, green, orange, black and Brown 23.5" x 18" (4 grams/ sheet)........ $1.50 per sheet

Please note:- the checkerboard tissue are thinners and dope sensitive, the ink used will smudge
AEROSPAN Medium White only (25 gm/metre)
A thin polyester tissue covering material. Use dope or thinners to adhere to the structure then heat shrink just like the plastic films. Dope to tighten even further. This material does have a distinct grain. You can download a "How To" PDF sheet from here. Perfect for Free Flight, R/C old timers and Control line models.

Carbon Fibre Tissue
Looks like medium weight tissue, 16 grams per sq metre approx. 0.1mm (4 thou) thick apply with dope or polyester resin. 905mm x 500 mm piece - $16.00 or $30.00 / metre. (In Stock)
Carbon Fibre Rib Capping
Hot cured unidirectional carbon fibre sheet ideal for capping wing and stabilizer ribs. Please note:- this material is not suitable for r/c car chassis or servo trays which utilise woven cloth.

3 Function Power Timers
Especially developed for Slow Open Power (SLOP) but equally useable in Open Power, 1/2 A Power, Vintage or Oz Diesel. With Seelig Timers no longer available, this timer is your only alternative.

Polish manufacture designed for F1B or F1J. Weighing 20 grams, this timer features DT, A/R, V.I.T and Flood off lever (prop release). Requires the fitment of a remote timer start mechanism. (image)

Tomy toy mechanisms
As an alternative to the Button and Badge range of timers, some modellers prefer to make their own light weight timers using the Tomy toy mechanism. The ratchet escapement is modified by added small counter weights to slow down the action. This mechanism formed the basis of the out of production Arrow timers made in Sydney.

Silicon fuel tubing - Clear
Silicon fuel tubing, 2.0mm internal diam x 0.5mm wall thickness (ideal for pinch-off timers). Glow fuel friendly and can be used with diesel fuels (it does swell because of the ether but do as I do, cut 3 identical lengths and swap them over every hour).
Pre-cut 1 meter lengths = $8.00 per metre.

Badge and Button timers
The ultimate in lightweight timers for Hand or Catapult launched gliders ( Button), Vintage and Open rubber, P-30 or 30" to 50" wing span power models (Badge). Unlike other "so called" vicious fluid timers being offered for sale, these need NO modifications to make them work.
