About "Us"
In 1996, Model Flite's owner the late Leo O'Reilly asked me for a simple HLG kit which started a process that led to supplying balsa and selected free flight products at contests and as word of this enterprise spread it was time to "go on line" Pel-Aero products® is the result. My background is in Aerospace manufacturing (military and civil) while over a 45 year span, I have built and flown Wakefield (old 50 gram rule) and Open Rubber; F1A, F1H, HLG, CLG, DLG and Vintage Glider; Jetex, Vintage Power (similar to US Nostalgia class), 1/2A/F1J and Open Power. (Phew!)
Over the years, I have had to hand fabricate many components because you could not buy them but times have changed! and while I still "scratch build" and support the Builder Of the Model principle, many of us have neither the time, nor skills to build competitive models, hence the rise of component manufacturers and suppliers of ARF free flight models, but, there are a wonderful group of individuals which includes Control line "who know the ropes" and they are the ones I cater for.
